Joel Gardner
Executive Director / Battery Coordinator
Joel is a native to the Columbia, SC area and graduate of the University of South Carolina. He help found Palmetto Percussion in 2007 and has been actively involved ever since. This year will mark Joel’s first year as the Executive Director as it is handed over by Erik Crook. Joel spent his DCI career as a member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps where he marched with the Holy Bass from 2007-2008 and was awarded the Distinguished Service award in 2008. While in college, Joel was a member of the University of South Carolina drumline and Steel Pan band. |
| Joel has taught and consulted with several notable percussive groups throughout the state of South Carolina and has been on percussion staff with The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps since 2009. During Joel’s percussion career, he has been fortunate enough to work with great performers and teachers such as Tom Aungst, Colin McNutt, Neil Larrivee, Steve Kieffer, Sean McElroy, Brad Myer, and Justin Lewis to name a few.

Joel currently lives and works in Columbia, SC as an analyst for a global technology company. |
